Wardrobe -- For flexibility, look for wardrobes that have a bottom drawer below the hanging compartment. You will find this very useful for heavier baby items that you want to tuck away out of sight without lifting them high into the air. Shelves inside the wardrobe are also handy for all those little bibs, towels and nursery bedding. On a safety note, make sure you buy one of those special straps to anchor the wardrobe to the wall so that there can be no possibility of a child pulling it over.
Go with simple items that are visually pleasing and allow air in the room. Too many items can clutter the nursery and make it difficult for the baby to breathe. Cot and cupboard that have simple patterns and designs make the room look bright and spacious. Similarly, choose colours that can be soothing for the eyes.
